At Aiven, we view our people (the Crab Cast) as our primary product. As our Manager of People Operations, you are the Lead Architect of the internal systems that power this product. Your goal isn't just to keep the lights on—it’s to build a world-class employee experience that scales through technology rather than headcount. You will lead a global team of 5–7 specialists across the US, APAC, and EMEA, sitting at the intersection of Business Velocity, Regulatory Precision, and AI-Driven Efficiency. This role is based at our HQ in Helsinki. We believe in the power of First Team collaboration, spending 3 days a week together in the office to co-create and build the future of Aiven.
Job Responsibility:
Engineer Efficiency: Lead transition from manual Jira and HiBob tasks to seamless, automated internal systems
Own the Workforce Lifecycle: Act as custodian of the Aiven Insider journey from onboarding to offboarding, translate company policies into scalable processes
Master Data & Compliance: Own Source of Truth for all workforce data, ensure systems and processes are Audit-Ready (GDPR, SOC2), provide data-informed decisions for Executive team and Board
Bridge the Operational Interface: Own operational delivery for Payroll and Global Rewards, ensure data accuracy and compliance globally
Drive Systems Architecture: Oversee People tech stack (HiBob, etc.) as product owner, ensure clean handoffs between People, Finance, IT, and Security
Own Vendor Relationships: Manage strategic and operational relationship with global HR technology and compliance ecosystem
Lead and Enable the Team: Manage global team of specialists, foster high-performance environment, provide skills and mentorship
