Notion is scaling from 1,000 to 2,000+ employees and needs someone to lead the HR Generalists team and own the global employee lifecycle. This role involves shaping how we support our people as we grow, building systems that scale, making processes delightful, and ensuring we're enterprise-ready while keeping that startup magic alive.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and mentor a team of People Ops Generalists
Own and drive continuous improvement across the global employee lifecycle (onboarding, job changes, internal mobility, merit reviews, promotions, bonus processing, offboarding)
Drive operational excellence by leveraging technology and AI to build scalable processes, policies, and workflows
Champion enterprise readiness by establishing audit-ready documentation, implementing internal controls, and building systems for SOC2 and SOX compliance
Enable global expansion by researching local laws, partnering on entity structures, integrating HR processes for new locations, and establishing vendor relationships
Manage the full lifecycle of the contingent workforce program
Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, IT, and Recruiting
Act as a subject matter expert for employee lifecycle questions, escalations, and special projects
Analyze trends and use people analytics to drive informed decision-making
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in People Operations, including experience scaling from 1,000 to 3,000+ employees in a high-growth tech environment
2+ years managing a team
Deep knowledge of employee lifecycle management best practices and compliance requirements across multiple geographies
Strong working knowledge of Workday (HCM) and comfort operating across multiple People tools and systems
Strong understanding of audit requirements and experience implementing internal controls for compliance audits
Process-driven with the flexibility to adapt
Data-driven approach to decision-making and process improvements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners
Track record of developing and mentoring high-performing teams
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
You’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results
Nice to have:
Experience supporting global expansion and setting up international entity operations
Experience managing contingent workforce programs and vendor relationships
Familiarity with HR data analysis and advanced reporting
