Job Responsibility:
Adhere to General Work Rule Requirements
Perform managerial responsibilities and recommend related actions (hire/fire, disciplinary actions, PMP, training, certifications, work assignments, scheduling, monitoring attendance, reviewing/approving hours)
Develop and submit annual A/C maintenance department budget including manpower requirements
Achieve monthly financial objectives for A/C maintenance department (labor margin, capital expenditures, budgeted operating expenses)
Ensure all maintenance performed meets FAA regulations and customer quality expectations
Maintain compliance with all OSHA Health & Safety guidelines and environmental laws
Coordinate aircraft program requirements among functional groups (operations, planning, scheduling, engineering, quality control, material and production control)
Interface with customer representatives, coordinate customer communication activities and resolve questions or disputes on customer invoices
Determine staff training needs to maintain work force qualifications and productivity
Determine needs and assure proper tooling and equipment is available
Solicit feedback from staff for development of new concepts and support continuous improvement activities
Collect and analyze service and maintenance data to identify trends
Monitor returned customer questionnaires to respond to customer concerns
Approve payment of vendors’ or suppliers’ invoices
Monitor technical performance of A/C programs and recommend changes
Assist in the development of strategic plans to support new programs and capabilities
Requirements:
Typically a minimum 6 years experience working in an aircraft maintenance facility environment
2-3 years progressive supervisory experience for a substantial technical work force
Bachelors degree in related area or equivalent years of experience
Working knowledge of FAA and Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to maintenance programs and procedures
Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application
Accounting and budgeting principals acumen necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports, and meet financial objectives
Working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations as they apply to workplace safety and environmental aspects of aircraft maintenance operations
Verbal and Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Business writing skills necessary to create various reports and correspondence
