Job Description:

The Manager, Operations - Nuclear will lead all operations and program execution activities within the core area of Nuclear. As the leader of a matrixed Nuclear Team, the Manager, Operations - Nuclear must be knowledgeable in project management, nuclear tooling design, operation and maintenance in radioactive environments, as well as services delivery, and spare parts supply.

Job Responsibility:

  • Delivers financial performance of the nuclear business unit ensuring cost, risk and quality is managed to plan
  • Leverages best practices across the ATS network, drives towards standardization of processes and tools with other divisions
  • Provides leadership and inspiration to the site leadership team, ensuring clarity of direction, motivation and development of capability and pipeline of talent for succession
  • Advocates and promotes employee engagement and effective communication throughout the company
  • Lead the talent development of your team and ensure individual goals and KPI’s are met
  • Leads and supports use of the ATS Business Model (ABM) lean tools & principles, driving execution of plans with key performance metrics, daily visual management (ex. yield/module efficiency/throughput and labor utilization), problem solving and Kaizen ensuring continuous improvement through accountability and ownership of the team
  • Is a role model for ATS code of conduct and quality standards always acting in an ethical manner, ensuring compliance to process and regulatory requirements
  • Hold daily visual management meetings, weekly governance reviews and monthly communications with their team and cascade performance expectations from leadership
  • Continually expands capacity and capability to meet future growth including sourcing and identifying potential M&A candidates or partnerships
  • Maintain an accurate project status tracking system, collect, monitor and report on performance at the department level
  • Implement the departmental policies and objectives as prescribed by the General Manger Nuclear
  • Recommend departmental operating budget and department within the budget parameters
  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources
  • Implement comprehensive performance reviews for direct reports
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
  • Strictly follow CSA N299.1/ASME NQA-1 Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures
  • Provide subject matter expertise within agreed-upon timeframes to Sales and Applications in the quotation process
  • Persuade key technical personnel at the customer site that ATS is key to their success to influence subsequent buying decisions. Provide timely customer intelligence to Sales and Business Development. Monitor and report on internal customer satisfaction data to the General Manager
  • Directly, and through your team, pro-actively articulate and deliver value added service solutions to our customers through the life cycle of their equipment
  • Work with the Sales team to develop and leverage our customer satisfaction surveys and KPI’s to drive focused customer support, conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, business administration or another technical field
  • Experience of having full P&L responsibility
  • Proven experience working with and leading skilled engineers and professionals in conjunction with working closely with their customers
  • Experience working in a project-based and change management environments
  • Experience running major automation programs ($50 mil +)
  • Demonstrated experience in facility operations, financial management, regulatory compliance, and planning development specific to automated manufacturing systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills required
  • Will be required to travel to licensed Nuclear Facilities and be registered as a Radiation Worker (US) and/or a Nuclear Energy Worker (Canada)
  • Must be capable of obtaining Security Clearance at Nuclear sites globally
