Job Description

Overview: Manager of the Operational Labs group. LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, FL. JOB STATUS: Full Time. Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Required. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of the Operational Labs group supporting the LASSO contract at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The Ops Labs Manager will oversee a diverse group of over several laboratories, including precision cleaning, calibration, non-destructive evaluation, chemical sampling and analysis, and additional staff.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a network of supervisors and their teams, focusing on delivering LASSO’s technology development projects on time and within budget
  • Meet with customers regularly to provide status, anticipate, and deliver on their needs
  • Coordinate with other business entities like Finance, HR, and procurement to ensure your group work’s runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards across all laboratories
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of laboratory teams, providing feedback and support for professional development

Requirements

  • 10 years of related experience in a technical engineering or scientific field
  • 5 years of experience in a lead or management position of a technical or scientific team
  • Experience with Unions and Collective Bargaining Agreements
