Job Description:

To oversee EHS compliance at assigned field locations. Ensure incidents are properly entered into the EHS management system, appropriately reviewed for causal analysis, effective corrective actions assigned, and properly closed. Assessment and identification of occupational risks; undertake consultation of workers and follow-up of related activities; identification, planning, control and monitoring of OSH monitoring and documentation; Annual Reporting on the Activity of the Occupational Safety and Health Service; Internal OSH training; Internal EHS audits. All with an overarching goal to prevent and correct unsafe working conditions.

  • Assessment and identification of occupational risks
  • undertake consultation of workers and follow-up of related activities
  • identification, planning, control and monitoring of OSH monitoring and documentation

  • Internal OSH training
  • Internal EHS audits
  • Assist operations to maintain facility compliance with all permits and environmental and health & safety regulations by assessing facilities, products and equipment on a routine basis, including risk evaluation, training, workforce consultation and review of controls
  • QA/QC all incident entries into our EHS Management system to ensure accuracy, adequate investigation, root cause analysis, setting and closure of corrective and preventative actions
  • Implementing, embedding and ensuring compliance with our EHS policies, procedures and programs including gaining and maintaining certifications with ISO standards were relevant
  • Work with the EHS Permit team to stay abreast of amendments to permits and work with Operations staff to identify changes needed
  • Perform comprehensive EHS audits as part of a cross-functional team
  • Provide regulatory support for active acquisitions
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested

Requirements:

  • Education equivalent to bachelor’s degree in a Science, Healthcare, Quality or Environmental Discipline, or the equivalent in related work experience
  • Member of, or eligible for membership of a relevant professional institution (environmental, waste management, engineering etc)
  • Holds a valid motor vehicle license
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret and understand strategic objectives, and to develop and implement solutions to meet those objectives in both the short- and long-term
  • Demonstrates the ability to direct, control and inspire the activities of a management team towards meeting objectives
  • Is able to monitor performance and provide feedback and coaching when required
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to understand complex requirements, and to interpret and successfully communicate those requirements, verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates the ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner
