Job Description

This managerial role spans across their entire Non-Life and Life reinsurance portfolio, with the responsibility to develop and maintain an effective UW risk appetite and governance framework, enabling the underwriters to perform at best in their risk-taking decisions.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and continuously enhance the Company’s underwriting risk appetite framework, define UW policies, guidance and governance instruments and oversee their application
  • Foster reinsurance contractual quality, provide consultation on contracts’ matters, define the Company’s wording’s standards
  • Embrace a strategic perspective on the UW portfolio
  • foster a risk-return philosophy
  • steer the book striving for its optimal composition, balancing short- and long-term objectives
  • Guide the team in performing analysis of the development of the UW book (risk profile, AvE, etc.), generating exposure-based analytical insights, assessing performance drivers and managing critical sources of accumulation

Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, Actuarial
  • Fluency in English
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in reinsurance underwriting or portfolio management/strategy
  • Focus on Non-Life lines of business
  • Track record in designing and leveraging advanced analytics for forward looking decision making

Nice to have

  • Another major European language is a plus
  • Additional experience in Life is a plus
  • Experience in systems’ implementation and roll-out of new technological solutions is a plus
