The Manager of Professional Practice and Compliance ensures the provision of quality patient care by ensuring the clinical competence of Case Managers, Social Workers, Complex Case Managers, Support Liaisons, and Utilization/Denials & Appeals. This individual works collaboratively with managers, directors, content experts and educators throughout the organization, to develop, deliver, and evaluate education and training for staff. Responsibilities include developing and implementing orientation, in-services, and continuing education programs, utilizing current evidence – based practices while focusing on the knowledge and skills required to care for patients. Serves as an influential leader, role model, and consultant for clinical and educational practices. This individual will consult with managers and staff regarding patient care issues, staff performance, and participate in setting standards for clinical practice. This clinician will ensure the department is in compliance with accreditation and licensing requirements and maintain oversight with department policies. This position serves as a resource for problem solving, performance improvement, policy implementation and staff issues. Responsibility for the interpretation of data related to social work and case management and delivery of interventions.

Assists Directors in evaluation of processes and procedures that would ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Prepares department for accreditation surveys, monitors, and assures compliance with hospital policy and regulatory standards
Identifies learning needs and education gaps for the Social Work / Case Management department
Takes accountability for projects and/or other assignments as assigned by the Department Directors
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and/or Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required OR Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university required
Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience required
Knowledge of principles and best practices of case management, utilization review, social work, care coordination and discharge planning
Knowledge of managed care and commercial insurance, MediCal, Medicare, and other third-party reimbursement
Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management
Ability to ensures staff are compliant with applicable standards and requirements of external professional, regulatory and accrediting agencies/bodies for social work, case management, discharge planning, and continuum of care through policy and procedure development, implementation, and monitoring
Ability to develop and retain a multidisciplinary staff within the department
Ability to drive a culture of proactive, integrated, high quality patient care, innovation, transformation, and change within the department
Demonstrated ability to instruct adult education programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Weekends and on-call coverage as determined by the Department Directors
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills
Advanced analytical, consulting, and project management skills
Ability to implement departmental standards and processes via education
CA-RN (Registered Nurse) required or LCSW - Lic Clinical Social Worker required
Nice to have:
inpatient case management or hospital social work experience, preferably with leadership experience and a background in education
