Job Description

This position is accountable for the overall day-to-day management of the care and services provided by the department and its related operations. This includes oversight and accountability for fiscal performance, quality outcomes of care provided, employee engagement and the patient experience within the departments. This position is also responsible for human resources including performance and professional development of Charge Nurses, Coordinators, lead staff, and staff. This position is accountable for VCH Patient Classification System (PCS) and is the Coordinator of PCS. This position practices within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with Valley Children's Healthcare policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree Nursing or related field
  • Either Bachelor's or Master's MUST be in nursing
  • RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
  • Minimum one (1) year Leadership and/or Managerial experience
  • Minimum three (3) years Clinical experience

Nice to have

  • Masters Degree Nursing or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years Increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job.
