We are looking for an experienced Manager of Compensation to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Minnetonka, Minnesota. This role involves leading the design and management of comprehensive compensation programs to ensure fairness, competitiveness, and compliance with relevant regulations. As a working manager, you will oversee a team of three senior compensation consultants and collaborate with HR and business leaders to align compensation strategies with organizational objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Provide leadership, guidance, and development opportunities to a team of senior compensation consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
Design, implement, and manage base pay, incentive plans, and sales compensation programs that align with the company's goals and industry benchmarks
Develop and maintain job architecture, salary structures, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability
Collaborate with HR business partners and organizational leaders to address compensation needs and provide strategic recommendations
Conduct market analyses and benchmarking studies to maintain competitive pay practices and support talent acquisition and retention
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation policies and practices
Optimize compensation systems and processes in partnership with payroll and HRIS teams to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Act as a subject matter expert on compensation principles, including executive and sales compensation, providing guidance to stakeholders
Lead or participate in cross-functional projects focused on total rewards and process improvements
Monitor industry trends and best practices to recommend updates and enhancements to existing compensation programs
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in compensation management, including sales and executive compensation
Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with experience managing senior-level professionals
Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market analysis, and job evaluation methodologies
Familiarity with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and reporting tools
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to advise and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to drive process improvements and manage multiple priorities
Up-to-date knowledge of compliance regulations and best practices in compensation administration
