This is a contract-to-permanent position within the legal industry, offering an exciting opportunity to oversee employee benefits and leave administration for a dynamic organization. The role involves working closely with senior HR leadership and firm management to ensure seamless benefits operations and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Manage all aspects of employee benefits administration, including enrollments, life changes, beneficiary updates, disability claims, and compliance testing
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefits and leave administration, including preparing and filing required forms
Oversee the administration of employee leaves such as FMLA, short-term disability, and long-term disability, while maintaining accurate records and communication
Evaluate and improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and implement cost-saving initiatives
Develop and lead wellness programs, including planning events, monthly initiatives, and communication strategies
Train managers and staff on benefits policies and leave procedures in collaboration with senior HR leadership
Monitor and audit vendor performance and billing accuracy, ensuring proper payment processing for benefit plans
Analyze and report on benefits and leave data to provide actionable insights to leadership
Serve as a subject matter expert for benefits systems, ensuring data accuracy and supporting system upgrades when necessary
Partner with HR leadership on vendor contract negotiations and renewals to optimize services
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
At least 7–10 years of progressive experience in benefits and leave administration, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
Comprehensive knowledge of benefits compliance regulations and multi-state leave laws
Strong proficiency in benefits platforms, compliance tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee budgets effectively
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex information and influencing stakeholders
Nice to have:
Previous experience in a professional services firm or a detail-oriented services environment is highly desirable
