24 hour accountability for a unit area. The major responsibilities are in providing leadership and communication, monitoring the work environment, assuring quality, managing the fiscal budget, managing human resources and ensuring the delivery of competent clinical practice.

Support and actualizes the Division of Nursing philosophy and goals by assuming leadership in program development and implementation
Facilitates development and implementation to solution to problems
Develops and Implements effective communication channels
Directs and Participates in the orientation of new employees
Has an identified council structure
Conducts unit council meetings monthly
Has a positive working relationship and problem solving with other members of the patient care delivery team
Participates in committees and task forces as indicated
Demonstrates positive leadership skills and communication
Promotes a caring helpful environment
Participates in unit, service and divisional CQI/CQE programs
Meets established research-based standards of care
Develops a multidisciplinary program to monitor quality patient care indicators
Maintains fiscal budget within established variance
Adjusts staffing patterns according to unit activity and patient acuity
Reviews fiscal Worksheet, analyzing variances and implementing appropriate action plans
Develops and Manages the unit budget
Facilitates professional growth and development of staff
Demonstrates accountability for human and material resource management
Complies with personnel policies and procedures
Participates in an innovative program
Participates in a professional organization
Maintains clinical exposure
Ensures the effective delivery of competent, compassionate nursing care
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BSN) in Nursing with a minimum of 3 years leadership experience
or Master's degree with Clinical experience preferred
Registered Nurse: TX (RN:TX)
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) within 14 days
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months
