We are hiring an opinionated leader to own the high-performance networking systems for AV Core Infrastructure (ACI) at GM. ACI is the core engineering organization responsible for building and maintaining the unified, secure hybrid platform that enables all autonomous software hosting, validation, and testing. You will lead the team responsible for the physical and virtual "pipes" that power our autonomous and robotic future, managing a high-throughput, low-latency hybrid network fabric across on-prem data centers and global cloud environments. We need a leader who takes deep ownership of Tier-0 connectivity and designs for scale, failure, and recovery as first-class concerns.
Job Responsibility:
End-to-End Architecture: Own the design, implementation, and operation of the hybrid network fabric, ensuring secure physical peering and seamless traffic engineering between on-prem and multi-cloud environments
Ingest Capacity: Manage the full lifecycle of data-to-cloud ingest systems, ensuring 100% capacity for the Super Cruise data flywheel
Network Integration: Execute the high-stakes integration of legacy networks, specifically merging DNS and VPN environments to eliminate friction for developers
NetDevOps Leadership: Establish and enforce SLOs for networking services while reducing operational risk through automated configuration management and "golden paths"
Requirements:
Deep experience with high-performance physical networking, including dark fiber, BGP, and Leaf-Spine architectures
Experience managing multi-cloud interconnects (GCP/Azure) and large-scale VPN/DNS migrations
Strong opinion on Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible) for network configuration management
Proven leadership experience at the Senior Manager or Principal-level scope
Nice to have:
Background in managing network security remediations and zero-trust initiatives in a hybrid environment
