The Manager, Mechanical Engineering will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of world’s most advanced gloveless aseptic filling systems through technical and organizational excellence. You’ll guide the development and continuous improvement of industry-leading aseptic filling workcells while building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team. This is a high-impact role that reports to the Head of Engineering, Aseptic Filling and is part of the engineering team located in Burnaby, BC and will be an on-site role.
Job Responsibility
Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team through all phases of the product lifecycle — concept, design, integration, qualification, release and sustainment
Transform user needs into actionable outcomes that drive alignment and influence across customer, operational, and cross-functional areas beyond the immediate team
Drive process intelligence, standardization, and continuous improvement to elevate both technical execution and team efficiency
Strengthens organizational culture by promoting engagement, removing roadblocks, and championing continuous improvement
Drive team members’ performance and development by setting goals, delivering timely feedback, and offering active growth support
Work closely with other functions to ensure manufacturability, reliability, compliance and smooth cross-team execution
Requirements
A mechanical engineer, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent and a passion for leading engineers building complex automation equipment
You have advanced proficiency in mechanical design - complex CAD assemblies, FEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, DfX
Proven ability to lead high-trust, high-performing engineering teams spanning junior to principal engineers, and driving cross-disciplinary collaboration
Ability and desire to lead the complete range of engineering responsibilities— technology development, new product development, sustaining engineering, field investigation, and customer complaint resolution
Experience in manufacturing processes such as CNC, precision welding, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing
A solid foundation in structured problem-solving techniques (FMEA, DoE, RCA etc.)
A strong command of engineering design process and best practices
