You will manage a cross functional engineering team which is responsible for definition of Loads (e.g. aerodynamic, thermal, static), Environments (thermal, vibro-acoustic, shock), Thermal Design (e.g. Thermal Protection & Control) and related analysis and vehicle instrumentation. You will play a major role in the development of Spectrum and other products as well as customer services.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and supervise a cross functional engineering team which is responsible for definition of Loads, Environments, Thermal Design and Fluid/Aerodynamic analysis
Supervise definition, documentation and reviews of Loads, Environments and related analysis
Supervise verification process and necessary flight instrumentation for Loads and Environments
Supervise thermal analysis and design of thermal protection and thermal control systems of the Spectrum Launch vehicle
Organize analysis requests from customers and for Mission Analysis with our colleagues from Mission and Launch Operations
Drive decisions and definitions based on the teams engineering input and trade against risks
Manages team capacity planning to balance coverage and wellbeing, oversee time and absences, and drive hiring, onboarding, succession, and performance management including annual reviews
Requirements:
Degree in the field of Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical or (Computational) Mechanics, or any other related field
8+ years of relevant experience in the field of aerospace with focus on either loads, environments or thermals
3+ years of relevant experience in leading a hardware development team
High degree of independence and confidence in assessing and trading design risks
Holistic perspective on development of systems
Highly organized and proactive with high attention to detail
