We’re on the hunt for a seasoned IT Finance Manager to join a dynamic team in Oakville, ON. This is a net new position, created to meet the growing need for a dedicated professional to oversee the IT finance function. You’ll be a key liaison between the IT and Finance departments, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical teams from a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) perspective. This role is perfect for someone who excels in a hybrid work model, with a mandatory three days in the office, including set days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The office space has been recently renovated with a mix of cubicles and collaborative "scrum spaces" to support both individual focus and team projects.
Job Responsibility
Leading Financial Operations: lead and manage all aspects of IT finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range capital planning, and variance analysis
Driving a Major Migration: instrumental in migrating from a manual, homegrown system to a new enterprise-grade financial management tool, IBM Apptio
Managing a Team: have two direct reports, an Accounts Payable Specialist and an IT Finance Analyst, and be a key part of the broader IT pillar
Ensuring Financial Compliance: approve invoices and purchase orders, ensuring they align with financial policies
oversee financial alignment of consulting contracts and track software and hardware assets
Collaborating and Communicating: work closely with both IT and central finance teams
translate complex financial concepts to IT leaders and vice versa
Requirements
A minimum of five years of progressive finance experience, with at least two years in an IT finance or technology-focused financial management role
Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes is essential
Advanced analytical skills and highly proficient in Excel
Experience with financial operations systems, especially tools like IBM Apptio, would be a significant advantage
CPA designation is preferred, but open to candidates with an MBA or other strong finance backgrounds who have a solid understanding of finance principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are non-negotiable
