Job Description:

The Manager, Innovations, Concept Development will be working closely with the Design and Prototyping teams of the Aircraft Innovation group and will be responsible for taking innovative ideas from concept through to prototyping and testing. To do that, this person needs a strong understanding of customer needs, and an ability to lead and execute the development of all our innovative products.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a team of cross-functional professionals to develop, iterate, test and validate our most innovative new concepts
  • Create a culture of experimentation, failing fast and iterating on designs to achieve the ultimate vision of our innovative concepts
  • Plan all activities related to the development of new ideas and manage deliverables in a fast paced environment, including interactions with partners and suppliers
  • Collaborate and negotiate with core engineering, programs, operations, and procurement leaders and disciplines to align support and guidance for our projects
  • Present and promote the innovation projects within the organization to the leadership team and extended functions
  • Ensure a successful handover to the Programs and Engineering organizations for flawless execution
  • Support the implementation of the innovation through to delivery and in-service

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience in Engineering, product development and certification of aerospace products
  • entrepreneurial, creative and open minded
  • passion for aviation, particularly business aircraft and emerging technologies
  • strong communicator, leader and listener
  • motivated by challenges and have a drive for results, bringing a strong technical aptitude, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and a good overall problem-solving approach
