Job Description:

We are seeking a Manager II, FinTech AI Application Development (L5B) to join Uber’s FinTech team. This role sits at the intersection of finance and AI innovation, driving how generative AI, machine learning, and automation reshape Finance and Accounting at Uber. This position emphasizes leadership, product vision, and domain expertise, while also valuing the ability to engage in technical exploration when appropriate. You will define the roadmap for AI in Finance, guide teams in exploring high-value use cases, and partner closely with stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and Uber’s central AI teams to ensure scalable, impactful adoption of AI solutions. This is a high-visibility role for a leader who understands both enterprise finance systems and emerging AI technologies, and who can bridge technical possibilities with business priorities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own and drive the AI roadmap for Finance and Accounting, in partnership with Finance leadership
  • Establish structured frameworks for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing AI opportunities based on ROI, scalability, and risk
  • Stay ahead of AI and ML advancements, translating them into practical applications for Finance and Accounting
  • Act as the primary liaison between Finance/Accounting and Engineering, ensuring AI initiatives align with business goals
  • Champion AI adoption across Finance by influencing stakeholders, shaping narratives, and demonstrating value
  • Partner with central AI platform teams to leverage infrastructure, tools, and best practices
  • Manage and mentor a small but growing AI-focused team, fostering a culture of innovation and learning
  • Guide the design and validation of AI proofs-of-concept (developed by technical contributors), ensuring alignment with Finance needs
  • Engage with technical details as needed to evaluate approaches and ensure sound design
  • Oversee the transition of successful POCs into production through close collaboration with Engineering
  • Track adoption, measure impact, and report outcomes to senior leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise finance platforms (e.g., Oracle EPM, SAP, data warehouses) and finance workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional programs and influence senior stakeholders
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in Finance/Accounting systems, processes, or technology
  • At least 2+ years of direct experience with AI/ML concepts, including generative AI, LLMs, or related technologies
  • CPA, CFA, or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Science
  • Prior experience delivering AI/ML solutions in Finance or Accounting contexts
  • Familiarity with modern AI tools and techniques (e.g., prompt engineering, RAG, synthetic data)
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate technical concepts for Finance leaders
  • Experience managing and mentoring technical teams

Nice to have:

  • CPA, CFA, or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Science
  • Prior experience delivering AI/ML solutions in Finance or Accounting contexts
