Job Description

As a Manager, Human Resource (HR) Global Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) Project Manager in Capital One’s HR Business Risk Office, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end HR life cycle for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions. This includes project managing HR due diligence, planning and/or managing for integration, and executing all transaction / integration, risk-related and associate-oriented processes. The team works and collaborates with key HR functional subject matter experts and enterprise cross-functional deal or integration teams including Risk and Compliance. This role will have a global scope, supporting acquisition and/or integration activities across geographies and lines of businesses.

Job Responsibility

  • Support of HR due diligence and integration activities, including providing project management support on multiple concurrent acquisitions and other transactions
  • Develop and manage project plans in a dynamic environment, including the tracking of progress against plans and communicating updates to the deal-specific HR and/or integration project teams
  • Coordinate, execute and instill strong risk management practices throughout acquisition and integration lifecycle to identify, socialize and resolve key risks and issues to deliver a consistent and well-managed experience across the organization
  • Work with HR project teams to conduct employee related data analysis (e.g. workforce / headcount, benefits, etc.)
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
  • Prepare and assemble employee schedules in purchase agreements following thorough data validation
  • Manage the Offer Delivery processes and system integration for acquired associates
  • Support and/or deliver cultural and logistical integration and onboarding activities for acquired associates
  • Identify lessons learned and process improvements to support continuous improvement of HR M&A infrastructure and processes
  • Support and/or own HR M&A capability building projects including development of resource and training materials for HR teams supporting deal or integration activities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of Project Management or Human Resources experience
  • At least 1 year of Process Improvement experience
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • 1+ year of Risk Management experience
  • 4+ years of Project Management experience
  • Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with Agile or Design Thinking methodologies
  • Knowledge of Global Mergers and Acquisitions
