Job Description

Our client, a leading Insurance firm, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manager, Fund Administration to join their team. This is a critical contract role where you will lead a small team of analysts and oversee the daily operations for a diverse portfolio of mutual funds, corporate class funds, and segregated funds.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and coach a team of two analysts, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the Fund Administration team, specifically the oversight of NAV calculations for all Mutual Funds, Corporate Class, and SLF GIF Seg Funds
  • Review any NAV errors, assess their impact, and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate complex fund changes, including new fund launches, closures, mergers, and name changes
  • Work closely with third-party vendors and participate in working group meetings for transitions
  • Review Prospectus and Annual Information Forms
  • sign off on merger activities to ensure general ledgers are aligned and tax/audit requirements are met
  • Assist the Director with vendor relationship management and serve as a backup for the Director as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Fund Accounting with a proven track record in people management and coaching
  • Familiarity with RBC systems (Trust, Milvus, RBCIS Online, MPower, MView) or CIBC Mellon systems (Nexen, Eagle, GSP)
  • A University or College degree is required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) and Adobe, with the ability to manage large data sets efficiently
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a decisive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation

Nice to have

  • Professional designation (CPA, CMA, or CFA) is highly desirable but not required
  • Deep knowledge of Mutual Fund Trusts, Mutual Fund Corporations, and Segregated Funds
  • Strong understanding of compliance and oversight functions
