We are looking for an experienced accounting specialist to lead external reporting and provide technical accounting guidance for a public company in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position plays a key role in producing accurate, timely filings, evaluating complex transactions, and supporting compliance with U.S. GAAP and public company reporting obligations. The ideal candidate will collaborate across finance, legal, and audit teams to strengthen reporting quality and help the organization stay aligned with changing accounting and disclosure standards.
Job Responsibility
Direct the preparation and review of periodic and current public company filings
Manage the development of financial statements, supporting disclosures, and narrative reporting sections
Evaluate complex or unusual transactions and prepare clear accounting position documentation
Advise business partners on the accounting impact of strategic activities such as revenue arrangements, lease matters, equity awards, and acquisitions
Track new accounting standards and disclosure requirements and coordinate implementation plans
Work closely with internal teams and external auditors to address reporting questions and resolve technical issues
Strengthen financial reporting processes and controls
Assist with internal control and SOX-related documentation
Requirements
Active CPA license required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to financial reporting and technical accounting responsibilities
Background in public accounting, ideally with a Big 4 or large regional firm
Strong command of U.S. GAAP and public company external reporting requirements
Experience preparing or reviewing annual and quarterly filings for a publicly traded organization
Demonstrated ability to research accounting guidance, write technical memos, and communicate conclusions effectively
Proficiency in financial reporting topics such as SEC reporting, EPS, annual reporting, and related disclosure requirements
