To lead and manage engineering activities for EPC projects in the power sector, ensuring timely, cost-effective and compliant delivery of engineering outputs across thermal, renewable and balance-of-plant systems. The role involves coordination with cross-functional teams, consultants, vendors and clients to support successful project execution.
Job Responsibility
Lead end-to-end engineering activities for EPC power projects, including conceptual design, basic engineering, and detailed engineering
Ensure engineering deliverables are aligned with project scope, contractual requirements, applicable codes, and statutory regulations
Review and approve technical documents such as design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical datasheets
Coordinate closely with procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management teams to ensure seamless execution
Support procurement by reviewing technical bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and material submittals
Provide engineering support during construction, including site queries, design clarifications, and issue resolution
Ensure compliance with national and international standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, ASME, etc.) and client specifications
Promote design safety, constructability, and operability principles across engineering activities
Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and value engineering exercises
Act as the primary engineering interface with clients, consultants, and statutory authorities
Participate in technical meetings, progress reviews, and coordination discussions with internal and external stakeholders
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and designers across disciplines
Allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones
Drive standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement in engineering processes
Support project planning by defining engineering schedules, resource requirements, and deliverables
Monitor engineering progress and proactively mitigate risks impacting project timelines and costs.
Requirements
B. Tech in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
Strong technical and analytical skills in power sector engineering
Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability
Sound knowledge of EPC, MEP Project Engineering
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines in complex project environments
10-15 years of relevant experience in EPC projects within the power sector, MEP works, Power Plants, Substations etc.
Strong exposure to engineering coordination across multi disciplinary EPC environments
Experience working with Construction Projects, utilities, IPPs, and large industrial clients is preferred.
