Job Description:

The Foundation’s Principal Gifts Team is focused on driving philanthropic opportunities for larger major gifts. Partners across Institutes, hospitals and systemwide priorities to support strategic fundraising efforts. Functions as the central strategic hub connecting frontline fundraisers with institutional leaders and core Foundation services to advance the highest-value philanthropic opportunities. In addition, guides engagement with hospital leadership and principal gift donors for strategic asks. The Manager supports principal gift activity related to select fundraising programs, helps execute the team’s core services and ensures frontline fundraisers are equipped with high-quality materials and messaging. The Manager will work closely with team members to manage the opportunity pipeline for major gifts. The Manager will also be responsible for supporting frontline fundraisers to solicit donations and cultivate relationships with donors in order to develop, secure, upgrade and maintain gift income sources for the present and long-term financial support of the Foundation, while serving as a key resource for proposal development and case materials within their assigned areas to ensure consistent, compelling messaging in support of strategic donor engagement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in fund-raising or marketing/sales leadership
  • Experience in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and providing stewardship for major gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to independently manage several projects simultaneously
  • Comfort when interacting with high-net-worth individuals, and an ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality when dealing with hospital supporters
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level correspondence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, persistence, enthusiasm, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff at all levels of authority, board members, external partners and donors
  • Detail- and results-oriented with strong anticipatory instinct, a self-starter who takes initiative, demonstrates unfailing follow-through and approaches project management with a patient persistence mindset
