Job Description:

The Manager, Data Science - Fiber Acquisition is a pivotal role that drives innovative data science initiatives across our business roadmap. By leading a dynamic team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers, you will orchestrate efforts to optimize fiber and broadband penetration, ensuring our solutions are both innovative and effective. This role involves collecting critical business inputs, developing and maintaining a strategic resource planning framework, and successfully delivering high-impact projects through epics and sprints.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborates with FP&A, Pricing, Analytics, and field partners to drive towards growth objectives across both marketing and promotions
  • Conducts region-level insights gathering to develop a playbook of initiatives to drive growth across each of the regions as an iterative and at a regular, recurring cadence
  • Lead the development of major data science initiatives from problem framing, data collection, model development, insights generation and presentation, deployment, and performance measurement
  • Hire, develop, manage, and retain a team of data scientists with diverse skills and experience levels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve business problems using data science techniques
  • Continuously improve data science operations to optimize efficiency, create scalable solutions, and build a world-class data science team
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience implementing data science-driven solutions and explaining complex machine learning and analytical concepts, presenting data insights and recommendations to diverse audiences and multiple levels of leadership
  • 2 years of management experience or leading/mentoring a data science team
  • 4+ years of experience with data querying, wrangling, cleaning, and feature engineering, working with common relational and non-relational databases in big data environments such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • 4+ years of experience using Python, R, and other predictive modeling and machine learning tools in big data environments
  • 4+ years of experience working with relational databases using SQL
  • 4+ years of experience building and deploying data mining, visualization, statistical models, AI, and machine learning solutions using various supervised/unsupervised ML algorithms
  • 2+ years of experience in the telecom industry.

  • Machine Learning: Expertise in applying machine learning concepts and techniques related to supervised and unsupervised learning

  • Communication: Ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams
  • Fiber Installation and Marketing: Understanding of the fiber installation process, market dynamics, and customer acquisition strategies in the fiber and broadband industry
  • Data-Driven Marketing: Experience in using data science to optimize marketing campaigns, improve customer segmentation, and enhance targeting strategies for fiber and broadband services
  • Geospatial Analysis: Proficiency in using geospatial data and tools to analyze and optimize fiber network deployment and expansion.
