Job Description

Lead the Architecture of Dandy’s Business Logic and Data Products. This is a strategic leadership role that pivots away from platform infrastructure to focus entirely on Data Modeling, Semantic Architecture, and Technical Rigor. You will lead the team that bridges the gap between raw software application data and the insights that drive our business. You will be the guardian of our Single Source of Truth, ensuring that our Analysts and Data Scientists are empowered with fast, reliable, and performance-optimized data products.

Job Responsibility

  • Build & Lead the Data Engineering Team: define vision, hire, mentor, define career paths
  • Architect the Semantic Layer: design domain-driven data models
  • Drive Technical Rigor & Performance: own health of data warehouse, optimize SQL query performance, design efficient table structures
  • Proactive 'Upstream' Engineering: partner with Software Engineering teams to implement Data Contracts
  • Accelerate Data Velocity: build modular, reusable data components
  • Treat Data as a Product: implement rigorous SLAs for data availability and quality

Requirements

  • Modeling & Architecture Expertise: deep experience in dimensional modeling (Kimball), data mart design, and complex SQL logic
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years managing Data Engineers or Analytics Engineers
  • Technical Excellence (SQL & dbt): expert in the modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake/BigQuery, Airflow/Dagster)
  • Collaborative Stakeholder Management: ability to translate technical constraints to business stakeholders and advocate for data needs with software engineering leaders
  • Focus on Reliability: obsessed with testing and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines for data
