Position: Manager Corporate HSE Audit Reporting to : GM - Corporate HSE Location: Thane, Mumbai Qualification: B.E Chemical + PG Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety Strengthen the corporate HSE audit framework across Dorf Ketal Specialty Chemical manufacturing sites, ensuring robust compliance with regulatory requirements, Responsible Care principles, and international safety standards. The role ensures high reliability, incident prevention, and cultural maturity through structured audits, governance, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibility
Develop and publish annual and multi-year HSE Audit Plan based on operational risk, chemical hazards, compliance gaps, and historical site performance
Develop and implement advanced audit tools including operational safety checks, human-machine interface risks, chemical compatibility risk, and emergency preparedness checks
Design, standardize, and periodically revise audit checklists, scoring systems, compliance frameworks, and KPIs aligned with Responsible Care, IS 14489, ISO standards, and chemical industry best practices
Monitor global and regulatory developments impacting specialty chemical sector and update internal audit frameworks accordingly
Conduct structured and surprise audits across all manufacturing units and high-risk processes including solvent handling, bulk transfers, hazardous waste management, reactor operations, storage, utilities, and emergency response systems
Conduct detailed verification of compliance to statutory requirements under chemical and environmental regulations, Responsible Care Codes of Practice, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other corporate HSE standards, and Process Safety elements including HAZOP follow-up, static electricity control, flammability management, and hazardous reaction controls
Identify systemic risk through audit to prevent chemical exposure, runaway reactions, spills, static electricity hazards, fires, or explosion risks
Conduct leadership-level briefings, site opening and closing meetings, and escalation sessions for overdue or critical non-conformities
Benchmarking, audit scoring, and maturity index reporting for continuous improvement and corporate visibility
Prepare audit reports and top risks summary, sharing audit highlights periodically with site leadership, corporate HSE leadership, Apex committees, and senior management
Requirements
B.E Chemical + PG Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety
12-18 years in specialty chemical or hazardous chemical operations with minimum 5 years in HSE auditing and compliance governance
