Job Description:

In this vital role, you will serve as the Manager Supply Chain Operations, leading a team of Senior Associates supporting raw material planning, site supply chain execution, and warehouse/logistics coordination for Amgen Thousand Oaks operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager Development Supply Chain, you will provide people leadership and operational oversight across planning, transactional execution, and logistics activities performed by your team. You will ensure reliable, compliant, and right-first-time execution while strengthening operational rigor, process discipline, and performance visibility. This role is accountable for translating established supply chain strategies into consistent operational execution. You will oversee workload prioritization, performance management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team, ensuring alignment with site priorities, regulatory requirements, and financial objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and develop a team of 4 Senior Associates across raw material planning, site supply chain execution, and warehouse/logistics operations
  • Provide clear priorities, performance expectations, coaching, and career development support
  • Ensure appropriate workload distribution and cross-training to maintain operational continuity
  • Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee raw material planning and MRP-based execution activities to ensure material readiness and uninterrupted site manufacturing operations
  • Provide governance over shipping, sales order management, warehouse coordination, and inventory movement activities
  • Ensure accurate SAP master data execution, transactional integrity, and right-first-time processing
  • Monitor inventory levels, material flows, and logistics execution to minimize risk, excess, and obsolescence
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of supply, logistics, or execution risks
  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs related to service levels, inventory accuracy, execution timeliness, and compliance
  • Drive structured root cause analysis and corrective actions for performance gaps
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, service levels, and cost performance
  • Provide performance reporting and insights to the Senior Manager and the manufacturing site stakeholders
  • Partner closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Warehouse stakeholders to ensure aligned execution
  • Support coordination with external warehouse and logistics partners to ensure compliant and efficient operations
  • Translate site and global priorities into actionable plans for the team
  • Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with cGMP requirements and Amgen procedures
  • Provide oversight for documentation accuracy, audit readiness, and procedural adherence
  • Support deviation management, documentation accuracy, and inspection readiness within scope of the team’s activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of supply chain, logistics, planning, or operations experience
  • Master’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing or life sciences industry preferred
  • Experience managing people required
  • Strong experience in supply chain planning, logistics, warehouse operations, or materials management
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience
  • Hands-on knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems (MRP, order management, inventory transactions)
  • Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
