Job Description

The Manager of the European Onboarding Team is responsible for overseeing a team of client onboarding and AML specialists based in Europe (the majority are primarily in Jersey), with responsibility for broader European operations. The role is pivotal in setting strategic direction, driving ongoing process improvement, demonstrating exemplary team leadership, and serving as a key participant in both internal and cross-jurisdictional projects. The Manager will ensure Ogier’s onboarding processes are aligned with regulatory obligations, commercial objectives, and the firm’s 2030 Vision, promoting service excellence through innovative and risk-based approaches.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a dynamic team of onboarding and AML specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth
  • Set and communicate the strategic direction and priorities for the team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Drive process improvement initiatives for onboarding workflows, leveraging creativity and challenging conventional approaches to enhance efficiency, client service, and risk management
  • Be a key stakeholder in process transformation and client journey optimisation projects, representing the team and contributing ideas to streamline operations and deliver effective solutions
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Finance, and other Operational units, to facilitate seamless onboarding experiences across jurisdictions
  • Act as point of escalation for complex onboarding matters, providing expert resolution and guidance on risk, compliance, and operational challenges
  • Oversee the ongoing monitoring and quality control of individual and team outputs, ensuring compliance with policies, regulatory standards, and service level agreements
  • Lead the team in embedding Ogier’s 2030 Vision, encouraging innovation, adaptability, and continuous professional development
  • Analyse key performance indicators, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management, supporting fact-based decision making and behavioural change
  • Continuously assess and enhance control frameworks, identifying and mitigating hidden risks or non-conformities, and sharing best practices across Ogier’s offices

Requirements

  • A Minimum of 6-8 years' experience at management level in the legal, compliance or regulatory sector with an exemplary record of performance
  • An ICA, CAMS, AML or equivalent professional qualification
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating large, global teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven operational and process improvement experience
  • Knowledge and experience commensurate with this role and having dealt with regulatory environments both onshore and offshore
  • Relevant experience in the AML/CDD on-boarding sector and client service delivery
  • Practical and commercial approach to problem solving
  • Experience of influencing behaviours at all levels of the organisation
  • Proven track record of delivering enhancements to process efficiency

  • Team Leadership & Capability Development- This leader is responsible for building and developing a high-performing team of Client Success Managers (CLSMs). They will set and reinforce performance expectations aligned to core Client Success KPIs such as retention rate, customer adoption, and value realization. A key portion of this responsibility—approximately half—is dedicated to sustainment and capability elevation. The Senior Manager reinforces adherence to the Client Success model through coaching, success planning reviews, field routines, and feedback loops. They will lead regular team development activities, manage skill progression, and help embed best practices into daily execution. This focus on sustainment ensures lasting enablement and continuous improvement, allowing the team to scale with consistency and impact.
  • Strategic Customer Engagement –The Senior Manager plays a hands-on role in deepening executive-level relationships with key customers. The Senior Manager leverages tools such as the Account Health Dashboard, usage trend reports, and account-level KPIs to identify risks and opportunities.
