Manager, Aquatics

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee daily operations of all aquatic facilities, including pools, splash areas, and related amenities
  • Ensure full compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
  • Maintain appropriate chemical levels and water quality standards
  • Develop and enforce aquatic policies, procedures, and emergency action plans
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
  • Conducts pre-event counseling with clients to determine vision, scope and needs of the event
  • Develops client contract regarding event according to established procedures
  • Ensures that ongoing communications, regarding event status, are maintained with client
  • Completes post event activities, as required, and according to established procedures
  • Develop and implement aquatic programs including swim lessons, youth camps, water fitness classes, and special events
  • Coordinate swim team programs
  • Monitor program participation and adjust offerings based on member feedback and demand
  • Address member concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain positive relationships with members and guests
  • Promote aquatic programs in collaboration with Club marketing efforts
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance for pools, pumps, filters, and related equipment
  • Work closely with Facilities/Maintenance staff on repairs and capital improvements
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentation of aquatic areas meet Club standards
  • Develop and manage the aquatic department budget
  • Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure financial performance aligns with Club goals
  • Manage payroll, supply ordering, and equipment purchases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of aquatic management experience
  • Experience in a private club or hospitality environment preferred
  • WSIT (Water Safety Instructor Training)
  • LGIT (Life Guard Instructor Training)
  • LG/FA/CPR/AED (Standard Red Cross certification that includes deep water training, generally defined as 7 feet or deeper)
