Job Description

Rapid7 is looking for a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team within our AI Center of Excellence in Pune. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex AI experimentation and production-grade cybersecurity solutions, driving the technical strategy and operational maturity of our AI systems.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of AI applications and platform capabilities, moving from initial experimentation to robust production deployment
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering technical excellence and professional development for senior and staff-level engineers
  • Translate ambiguous business requirements into structured technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment between product goals and engineering execution
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Security Research, and Platform teams to identify and prioritise high-impact AI use cases

Requirements

  • Ability to inspire a team of 10+ engineers while maintaining high technical standards and morale
  • A proven track record of shipping complex ML systems to production in cloud-native (AWS) environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to navigate cross-team dependencies and organisational complexity
  • Deep understanding of modern AI patterns, including LLMs, RAG, and agentic orchestration
  • 10+ years of experience in applied AI/ML engineering with the ability to guide architecture without creating bottlenecks
  • Expertise in the ML lifecycle, including evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and cost optimisation
  • Comfort operating in dynamic, high-growth environments where requirements and priorities shift iteratively
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity or similar high-signal, analytical data domains
  • Capacity to balance immediate delivery needs with long-term technical debt and scalability
  • Ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences
