We are seeking an ADBA Specialist with strong experience in Oracle 19C database performance tuning to support UK-based projects. The individual will work in a 24x7 hybrid support environment, focusing on optimising SQL performance, monitoring database health, and collaborating with application teams to ensure smooth and stable operations.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor OEM, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace tools for database performance
Support application teams during planned CRQs, including pre- and post-implementation activities
Identify high CPU/IO-consuming SQL queries and recommend tuning improvements
Assist application teams with SQL fine-tuning and performance troubleshooting
Utilise database data dictionary views for in-depth analysis
Monitor database wait events and raise Oracle SRs when required, ensuring follow-up
Collaborate with L3 teams on performance and query tuning
Develop Shell, Bash, Python, PL/SQL scripts as needed
Perform data purging activities in alignment with retention policies
Reorganise tables and manage partitioning to enhance performance and capacity
Support export/import activities and perform logical table or schema refreshes
Generate and analyse AWR, ASH, and ADDM performance reports
Conduct performance tuning using standard Oracle utilities, including coe/sqlhc, profiles, and baselines
Provide support during month-end processes and incident management across P1–P4 levels
Document incidents and conduct root cause analysis
Monitor blocking and long-running sessions
Perform listener and alert log analysis
Manage MView refresh requests and handle session termination with required approvals
Requirements:
Experienced in Oracle 19C database performance tuning
Skilled in OEM, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace monitoring tools
Proficient in Shell or Python scripting
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a structured approach
Open‑minded, solution‑oriented, and able to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical teams
Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
