Manager, Accounting on the Credit Accounting team, operating as a key player within the Business Intent Agile Team, with the end goal of translating complex accounting needs into clear technical requirements and ensuring that business intent meets financial governance standards. This is a highly visible role where you will not be confined to a single team. Instead, you will "float" horizontally to support critical initiatives in Rewards Accounting, leading cross-functional efforts to analyze risks, define requirements, and oversee user acceptance testing from a financial controller’s perspective.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary SME for Credit Accounting within the business intent organization, ensuring that all Rewards-dependent builds adhere to financial reporting standards and controller policies
Partner with Business Intent, Technology and Product teams across various sprint cycles
Act as the "Voice of the Controller" within the pods to ensure accounting dependencies are identified early
Translate accounting policies into actionable Business Epics and User Stories
Ensure that acceptance criteria include necessary financial controls and data lineage requirements
Drive the completion of accounting-specific deliverables within the broader tech roadmap
Manage project plans, track metrics, and maintain decision logs to ensure on-time delivery
Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for finance use cases
Validate that the technology build accurately reflects the business intent and flows correctly to the General Ledger before production release
Lead interactions between the BI, Product & Tech teams and the Credit Accounting Team
Communicate progress, blockages, and risks to the leadership team, ensuring alignment between product innovation and financial control
Analyze current operational processes and recommend automated solutions that reduce manual accounting work and minimize operational risk
Requirements:
At least 7 Years of accounting, or finance, or audit experience, or a combination
Bachelors Degree or Military Experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, or Finance, or Business
3+ years of banking or finance industry experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
2+ years of experience in Tableau, or Python, or SQL, or a combination
3+ years of experience with Google Workspace
3+ years of experience working within Agile environments
Project Management Professional (PMP), or Lean or Agile Certifications (Product Owner, or Agile Project Management, or SAFe Scaled Agilist)
