Job Description:

Myshon strives to provide a professional accounting service to its clients as part of the wider offering. To strengthen our ability to deliver and exceed our client’s expectations we are looking for a Management Accountant. The successful applicant will the first point of call for their clients, offering an in-depth knowledge of their accounts and delivering quality management information and reporting. They will also be a ‘trusted lieutenant’ to the Financial Controller and support the continued professionalisation of the finance department. Myshon is going through a period of growth and change which brings opportunities for this role to develop and the individual to make an impact from the start. We’re looking for someone with an appetite to learn and develop who is client focussed, holds themselves to high standards and isn’t afraid to get stuck in. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can pick up distinct tasks and get them done and done well.

Job Responsibility:

  • Owning and maintaining the general ledger for specific client and group companies
  • Undertaking the production and timely issuance of high-quality management accounts and insightful management information for our clients and stakeholders
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual client budgets
  • Producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work with external stakeholders through audit and budgeting processes
  • Challenging and driving improvements in existing processes and practices
  • Act as one of the primary contacts for external auditors, leading the team to ensure accurate and timely responses
  • Analysing key variances that drive movements in the financial accounts and make recommendations
  • Supporting junior colleagues in the development of their knowledge and skills
  • Perform other tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Qualified / part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Experience of calculating and posting accruals, prepayments and owning/running a general ledger
  • Experience of producing management accounts
  • Strong financial management and analytical capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Comfortable dealing with people at all levels of the business and building relationships
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong excel skills and a focus on process improvement
  • Strong understanding of core finance functions including sales and purchase ledgers
  • A problem solver

Nice to have:

  • Microsoft Dynamics NAVision experience
  • A background in SMEs or smaller businesses with broad exposure across finance.
