At Anabas, we’re looking for a hands-on Management Accountant who thrives on accountability and enjoys turning financial data into meaningful business insight. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in managing their own portfolio “cradle to grave” and wants to play an active role in supporting operational performance and commercial decision-making. Anabas is a dynamic, national Facilities Management company focused on supporting corporate office occupiers who want to create outstanding workplace experiences. Based at our Business Support Centre in Darlington, you will join a collaborative team where finance plays a key role in supporting the success of the wider business. In this role, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of contract P&Ls from start to finish, managing the financial process from journal postings through to monthly management accounts and insightful reporting to operational teams. You will work closely with Account Directors and operational teams, providing clear financial reporting, challenging the numbers where necessary, and identifying opportunities to improve performance across your portfolio. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with the detail while also contributing valuable insight that helps shape business decisions.
Job Responsibility:
Take full ownership of a portfolio of contract P&Ls
Prepare and post monthly journals including accruals and prepayments
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
Support the month-end close and production of monthly management accounts
Reconcile annual contract costs to ensure accurate fixed-fee profit reporting
Deliver variance analysis and financial insight to operational managers
Communicate progress and highlight issues during month-end reporting cycles
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and year-end reporting
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a commercial environment
Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and SUMIFs (VBA/macros advantageous)
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable managing deadlines and taking ownership of work
Strong communicator able to work effectively with operational teams
Nice to have:
Experience in a multi-site or contract-based business would be beneficial
