This newly established role will strengthen financial visibility across production activities and help leadership make informed decisions that support efficiency and profitability. The position works closely with operations, supply chain, and finance to evaluate costs, improve reporting accuracy, and support sustainable business growth.
Job Responsibility
Oversee cost accounting records for manufacturing operations, including standard costing methods and inventory valuation accuracy
Produce recurring analyses that explain fluctuations in material, labor, and overhead costs and highlight key business drivers
Contribute to monthly and annual close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring reliable financial reporting
Collaborate with plant and operations teams to review production spending, uncover cost trends, and recommend opportunities to improve performance
Monitor inventory activity through variance reviews, cycle count support, and reporting on movement across manufacturing locations
Assist with budgeting and forecasting by providing detailed cost assumptions, trend analysis, and operational financial insight
Evaluate profitability across products, customers, and business segments to support pricing and margin improvement decisions
Help maintain adherence to U.S. GAAP and company financial controls while supporting analysis for capital projects
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
5 or more years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting
Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis in a production environment
Ability to interpret manufacturing cost data and translate findings into practical business recommendations
Experience supporting close processes, reconciliations, and cost-focused financial reporting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis, modeling, and reporting
Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with finance, supply chain, and operations team
