The Management Accountant is a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the business. This individual will build an efficient and robust month-end close process, improve reporting and lead typical management accounting tasks. This individual will also play a key role in embedding best practices and driving continuous improvement across accounting and reporting processes.
Job Responsibility:
Review and build a strong and efficient month-end close process
Lead and own the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
Prepare monthly management accounts, annual accounts, and statutory reporting, including variance analysis and commentary
Build, prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset accounting, and intercompany transactions
Review revenue and P&L against budget/forecast with the MDs of each group company to maintain accountability, understand performance against expectations and discuss the drivers
Ensure reporting meets internal standards, governance requirements, and audit readiness
Continuously review and enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and workflows
Assist with the assessment and implementation of a new finance system
Identify inefficiencies and implement automation, standardisation, and best practices across the finance function
Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring documentation, processes, and controls are robust
Lead audit evidence collection and assist with statutory accounts preparation
Requirements:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) or finalist
Experience leading month and year-end close, variance analysis and financial reporting
Strong technical accounting skills
Strong knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks preferable
Advanced Excel skills required
Process improvement mindset and ability to implement robust controls and streamlined workflows
Excellent business partnering and communication skills
