We have an exciting opportunity for an adaptable self-starter, who enjoys a varied role, collaborating with different departments and providing key financial support, as Management Accountant. The role forms part of our Group finance team in Abingdon. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the scope of the role covers all Management Accountant responsibilities relating to our UK entities providing direct medical services & products to the NHS & private customers. The Management Accountant role plays a critical part of the Finance team in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the organisation. With a focus on monthly closure, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting and commentary, financial analysis and process improvements. The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies. This role collaborates closely with various departments to streamline financial processes, provide meaningful insights and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Fully support the financial activities of the AM Healthcare Group UK entities, servicing the NHS & private patients directly
Conduct monthly financial closure activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, provisions and reconciliation of financial statements
Analyse variances and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive efficiency gains
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and enhance internal controls
Prepare Management reports and commentary providing financial performance and key insights, for the business
Assist the FP&A manager with the annual budgeting and forecast processes, providing support and analysis of risks and opportunities as needed
Participate in audit activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed by the Group Financial controller
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (or at the final stage study for professional qualification)
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Strong organisational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Experience with Monthly Closure processes, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
