Job Description

We're looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team, ideally based in Crawley (with Coventry as a second option, with a willingness to travel to Crawley twice a month). You'll be working alongside a dynamic, fast-paced and entrepreneurial recently acquired business, supporting a highly profitable and growing organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join our excellent Finance team based in Coventry, supporting a recently acquired £10m turnover business running hosted buyer events in healthcare and education. You will work within the Healthcare division, reporting to the Healthcare Senior Business Partner.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring proper recording and reporting of financial transactions
  • Providing finance support to the Senior Finance Business Partner, and to operational and marketing teams managing show cost budgets and revenue
  • Supporting the FD and Senior Finance Business Partner on the build, review and maintenance of budgets and forecasts in the FP&A system
  • Financial accounting responsibility for the legal entity to Net Contribution, including assistance with balance sheet reconciliations and audit compliance
  • Highlighting financial risks and opportunities at show level to the Senior Finance Business Partner
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis, helping to develop innovative reports focused on performance and financial objectives
  • Suggesting updates and improvements to accounting processes, and supporting the business in following finance procedures
  • Ad-hoc support as required to the senior finance team

  • Excellent IT skills and strong reconciliation skills
  • Efficient at analysing information to support decision making

  • Strong academic record and a clear, structured thinker
  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified or finalist (desirable)
  • Minimum of two years' experience preparing management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Proven track record of delivering value-adding information
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience of computerised accounting / ERP systems (advantageous but not essential)
  • Background in an SME environment, having developed through Finance roles
