Job Description:

We’re looking for friendly, reliable male carers to join a well-run care package supporting a gentleman with a spinal cord injury in Clapham, SW4. This is a great opportunity to be part of a long-term team providing one-to-one care in a supportive, organised home environment. You’ll be working in the client’s own home, where he lives with his wife and adult children. He has lived with his injury for many years and is very clear about how he likes things done. He leads a busy, active life and goes out daily with support from his carers. The client values professionalism, good hygiene and a tidy appearance – carers change into clean clothes on arrival and wear indoor shoes in the house. This is a role where clear boundaries, a positive attitude and a respectful approach are really important.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide one-to-one care in a supportive, organised home environment
  • Personal care
  • Supporting mobility
  • Helping with equipment like hoists and CPAP
  • Making sure the day runs smoothly
  • Drive client's adapted vehicle for daily outings

Requirements:

  • Male carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1)
  • Kind, dependable and confident supporting someone in their own home
  • Willingness to learn, a common-sense approach and the ability to follow the client’s lead
  • Driver essential
  • Must have clean driver's licence
  • Happy to help with regular community outings
What we offer:
  • £150 for paid training included in first paycheck
  • £250 joining bonus after successful probation
  • Full training before you start
  • Time to get familiar with the care routine
  • Short introduction and shadowing shift may be offered before starting
