Job Description

You will join a growing Independent Connections Provider (ICP) who specialise in LV electricity networks as well as renewable energy projects. This role will be within the design team, focusing on supporting and growing the business through customer satisfaction. The Design Engineer’s role is to support customer enquiries and orders within the business. This will involve you applying company processes and practices to your work and supporting the Senior Design Engineer.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting DNO/IDNO and key customer interfaces
  • Ensure designs are completed within the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Be creative in finding solutions to resource / reschedule problems to maintain the project delivery programme
  • Proactively escalate problems to the Senior Design Engineer and other managers to avoid Health & Safety risks, customer complaints and commercial exposure
  • Work closely with Construction Engineers to ensure that project objectives are understood and met
  • Mentor and support your team and others
  • Identify and deliver process improvement solutions
  • Complete all work to high standards
  • Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to ensure tasks are completed effectively
  • Liaise with the public to ensure that work is handled smoothly, making sure that they are treated with respect and patience

  • Degree or equivalent qualification qualification in electrical or electronic engineering
  • Have some experience or understanding of 11kV and 33kV substations, generation schemes or other technical specifications
