Job Description

Step into a high-impact role where you’ll own and grow some of Coates’ most important customer partnerships in Civil across Brisbane metro. As a Major Account Manager, you’ll build trusted executive relationships, unlock new opportunities and deliver tailored solutions that drive real commercial outcomes—backed by a national leader in equipment hire and industrial services. Based out of one of our Brisbane branches, responsible for a network across the region, you’ll be reporting directly to the Sales Manager – Markets.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and strengthen executive-level relationships across major customer organisations
  • Grow revenue within existing accounts while identifying new project and customer opportunities
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Lead tenders, negotiations and contract outcomes that deliver mutual value
  • Travel across QLD to maintain strong on-site customer engagement and visibility

Requirements

  • Experience selling services into construction, mining, manufacturing, government or similar sectors
  • Proven success in account management, negotiation and influencing outcomes
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into growth plans
  • Experience with tenders, contracts and complex stakeholder environments
  • A proactive, relationship-driven approach and passion for delivering customer value

  • Lead the civil design of municipal water and wastewater projects across the UK, covering feasibility, optioneering, concept, outline and detailed design across major programmes (e.g. AMP8, WINEP, SROs, etc)
  • Lead and support on the civil aspects of feasibility, optioneering, design and delivery of flood risk and erosion risk management and sustainable drainage systems
  • Set and uphold the civil design approach for treatment work: in-house standards (in line with water industry asset standards), checking, and consistency of outputs across projects and teams
  • Fulfil Designer duties under CDM 2015, leading design risk management within the civil scope and, where appointed, undertaking Principal Designer responsibilities in support of the Design Manager during the pre-construction phase
  • Take ownership of the civil scope within multidisciplinary delivery, driving clear decisions on operability, maintainability, access, and whole-life performance
  • Ensuring designs comply with CESWI, UK regulations and client standards
  • lead design reviews, approve deliverables, and uphold safety, sustainability and BIM requirements throughout the project lifecycle
