Job Description

The Maitre D' serves as a key ambassador of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of service excellence. This individual must be comfortable taking ownership of a station, leading service in a private dining room, taking food and beverage orders, assisting with wine and cocktail service, and supporting the front-of-house team wherever needed. The ideal candidate combines strong hospitality instincts, refined service skills, leadership ability, and a hands-on approach to restaurant operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as a visible and active presence on the restaurant floor throughout service
  • Welcome and engage guests, ensuring a warm, personalized, and memorable dining experience
  • Support service teams by stepping into captain roles and managing guest interactions when necessary
  • Maintain awareness of dining room flow, guest satisfaction, and service standards at all times
  • Assist management in ensuring seamless coordination between the dining room, bar, and kitchen teams
  • Take food and beverage orders with confidence and detailed menu knowledge
  • Provide recommendations and guide guests through the dining experience
  • Deliver elevated hospitality and anticipate guest needs throughout service
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently, ensuring prompt resolution

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or Michelin-starred restaurants
  • Strong background as a Captain, Maitre D', Lead Server, or Front-of-House Supervisor
  • Proven ability to manage a dining room section and provide elevated table-side service
  • Experience overseeing private dining rooms and special events preferred
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and beverage service
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and guest relations skills
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout service
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
