The Apprenticeship Maintenance Trainee is responsible for learning and applying skills to maintain equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive electro-mechanical condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of snack food equipment and building maintenance.
Job Responsibility:
Learn and apply skills to maintain equipment and facilities
Develop an understanding and practical application of governmental regulatory programs and policies
Practice and comply with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures
Understand the concept of Permit Required Confined Spaces
Follow all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Attend classes in the evenings, 2 – 3 times a week
Attend seminars and in-house training as needed
Execute and document planned and unplanned work findings and data during shift via SAP
With assistance, execute electrical and mechanical work orders
Assist with equipment breakdowns/repairs and resolution
Learn methodologies including root cause analysis (RCA), break down failure analysis (BDA) and cause maps
Develop and demonstrate an understanding of various diagrams
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required
Some college or formal technical school education is preferred, but not required
Must pass plant specific maintenance test
Must commit to a 4 year program with evening classes during the week
Must complete the Apprenticeship Program with the Manufacturers Association with a grade average of 72% or above
