Job Description

It's More Than a Job, It's a Calling! Position: Maintenance Trades Specialist III. Location: Christ Medical Center; Oak Lawn, IL. Full Time; 1st shift, Monday-Friday.

Job Responsibility

  • Performs preventive maintenance and technical repairs on complex facility systems
  • Diagnoses and implements repairs for Utility and Infrastructure Systems
  • Installs/replace and maintains building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and controls systems
  • Operates and monitors advanced utility equipment (generators, plant chillers, steam boilers, fire protection systems, etc.) and utilizes building automation systems to troubleshoot issues
  • Maintains vacuum, compressed air, and medical gas systems
  • Reads blueprints, Life Safety drawings and manuals for accurate task completion

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of technical training
  • 4 or more Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight with advanced technical skills in facility maintenance
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills required
  • Advanced computer skills/competency required in using and operating systems such as Microsoft Office Platform, Building Automation Systems, Pneumatic Tube Systems
  • Clear understanding of applicable compliance codes and guidelines
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance
  • Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force
  • Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards and therefore knowledge of safety precautions
  • Position requires travel
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job

  • Community College/Trade school degree
  • Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or trades or industry recognized certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal to maintain
  • 7+ Years of Experience in relatable industrial/trades maintenance or operations
