Job Description:

We are currently expanding our team and are in search of an experienced Maintenance Technician to join us on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing a diverse range of electrical and mechanical equipment, playing a vital part in our innovative subsea cables division.

Job Responsibility:

  • Be a key part of the engineering maintenance that goes into maintaining and repairing cable handling equipment
  • Assisting in the mobilisation and demobilisation of cable equipment for off-shore projects
  • Ensure safe working practices are always followed
  • Complete periodic and condition-based maintenance, completing premobilisation checks on equipment
  • Logging all maintenance records on system
  • Troubleshooting on electrical/mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Inspect and overhaul valves, motors, pumps and other hydraulic components
  • Maintain housekeeping in workshop
  • Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment
  • Provide input into the specification of new equipment
  • Report any problems that have occurred or any questions that you may have to the Production Manager
  • Provide guidance to apprentices in department and mentor them on their apprenticeship pathway

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving license
  • Time served/significant experience in a Mechanical / Electrical technician role
  • Electrical fault finding and diagnosis
  • Understand technical drawings and information
  • Experience using maintenance scheduling and logging software
  • HNC (or equivalent) in engineering trade or relevant experience
  • Good time management
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Hydraulic fault finding & diagnosis would be advantageous
  • Basic IT skills in Word and Excel would be an advantage
