We are currently expanding our team and are in search of an experienced Maintenance Technician to join us on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing a diverse range of electrical and mechanical equipment, playing a vital part in our innovative subsea cables division.
Job Responsibility:
Be a key part of the engineering maintenance that goes into maintaining and repairing cable handling equipment
Assisting in the mobilisation and demobilisation of cable equipment for off-shore projects
Ensure safe working practices are always followed
Complete periodic and condition-based maintenance, completing premobilisation checks on equipment
Logging all maintenance records on system
Troubleshooting on electrical/mechanical and hydraulic systems
Inspect and overhaul valves, motors, pumps and other hydraulic components
Maintain housekeeping in workshop
Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment
Provide input into the specification of new equipment
Report any problems that have occurred or any questions that you may have to the Production Manager
Provide guidance to apprentices in department and mentor them on their apprenticeship pathway
Requirements:
Full UK driving license
Time served/significant experience in a Mechanical / Electrical technician role
Electrical fault finding and diagnosis
Understand technical drawings and information
Experience using maintenance scheduling and logging software
HNC (or equivalent) in engineering trade or relevant experience
Good time management
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Good communication skills
Nice to have:
Hydraulic fault finding & diagnosis would be advantageous
Basic IT skills in Word and Excel would be an advantage
