We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Mechanic to join a fast-paced, modern glass manufacturing facility in Langley, BC. This is a full-time, weekend-shift role within a well-established industry leader recognized for its commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. This position is best suited for candidates with hands-on maintenance experience in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to support consistent uptime and efficient operations. Working closely with maintenance and production teams, you will play a key role in equipment reliability, continuous improvement initiatives, and safe plant operations. While training is provided on site-specific systems, applicants must bring prior Maintenance Technician experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a production setting. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented technician who is comfortable working weekends and looking to contribute to a high-performing maintenance team.
Job Responsibility:
Read diagrams and schematics to determine repair or installation steps
Install and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
Inspect machinery for irregularities or malfunctions
Repair or replace defective parts and adjust machinery as needed
Fabricate parts using machine tools during setup or repairs
Ensure safety devices function properly after installations or repairs
Maintain and sharpen machine tools
Perform preventative maintenance and keep detailed service records
Clean and lubricate machinery regularly
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing
Experience with automation
electrical knowledge is a plus
Familiarity with CNC machines and PLCs
Hands-on experience with fans, motors, pumps, valves, hoists, compressors, cylinders, and conveyors
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Comfortable working independently and under tight deadlines
Safety-first mindset with knowledge of equipment safety standards
Flexibility to work various shifts when needed
Commitment to continuous improvement
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing physical tasks like reaching, kneeling, and standing for long periods
Must follow safety regulations and handle equipment and chemical hazards
Use of personal protective equipment provided
