We are looking for a highly qualified Maintenance Technician for a challenging position in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, within the manufacturing industry. This crucial role, categorized as a skilled trade, is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician who excels in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be at the heart of operations, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our client's facilities, a leader in bituminous products.
Job Responsibility:
Rigorously implementing and adhering to the established maintenance program, following planning and schedules
Planning and executing preventive maintenance and repairs for all plant equipment
Assuming full responsibility for the maintenance work area and all tools
Effectively managing relationships with internal departments, suppliers, and subcontractors
Maintaining and repairing maintenance workshop equipment
Identifying and implementing continuous improvements aimed at increasing production, reducing operational costs, and optimizing workplace safety
Maintaining and executing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) program
Collaborating closely with the central maintenance department, including field mechanics and electricians, to resolve complex issues
Providing technical support for engineering projects as needed by the facility
Potentially traveling to nearby plants to perform additional maintenance work
Ensuring the integrity and presentation of maintenance data for internal and external ISO audits
Requirements:
Diploma in industrial mechanics, electromechanics, or other related field mechanic studies
At least 5 years of verifiable experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment
Intermediate electrical skills (low/high voltage troubleshooting, schematic interpretation, etc.)
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work safely at heights
Knowledge of forklifts, scissor lifts, and cranes (signaling)
Experience in confined spaces
Experience in a construction environment
Availability to work outside normal hours and perform overtime in emergencies
In-depth knowledge of production process equipment and controls (Delta V automation, PLC automation, pumps, valves, piping, electrical/oil/steam tracing, thermal oil heaters, steam boilers, and various electrical systems)
Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously or in a small team
Solid computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook) and mandatory experience with CMMS systems
Valid driver's license is mandatory
Possession of personal hand tools suitable for all aspects of basic maintenance tasks
Nice to have:
Proof of an ASP safety course
Knowledge of ISO and 6S standards
