The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services. This role encompasses a wide range of duties, including the upkeep of HVAC systems, lighting, plant air, and general building maintenance activities. The technician is expected to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment, manage consumable parts inventories, diagnose machine malfunctions, and oversee third-party contractor support when necessary.
Job Responsibility:
Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and support equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Inspect equipment for wear, misalignment, or potential failures
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and PM schedules
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime
Assist operators with machine setup, adjustments, and minor repairs
Communicate recurring issues and recommend long term solutions
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and equipment guarding
Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment hazards
Ensure maintenance activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards
Maintained organized toolbox, work area, and spare parts
Track and maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables
Coordinate with vendors for parts, service calls, or specialized repairs
Document parts usage and assist with maintenance budgeting
Support general building upkeep, including lighting, HVAC filters, plumbing, and infrastructure repairs
Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and alignment
Requirements:
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial or manufacturing equipment
Basic understanding of electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work safely around moving machinery
