The Maintenance Technician is to perform routine and preventative maintenance and minor repairs at the venue. This position will perform a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining and repairing the building.
Job Responsibility:
Reports for scheduled work on time, is at main warehouse in a timely manner and is in complete uniform with clothing and personal appearance neat and clean.
Perform routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance as necessary to maintain facility appearance to high level of standards. Performing preventative maintenance when necessary.
Service, maintain, install, remove, troubleshoot, and repair all necessary equipment.
Completes required maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
Ensures that repairs are made in a way that is safe and in compliance with the relevant laws and licensing authority regulations.
Conducts walk-throughs to ensure all fixtures and equipment are operational prior to and during all events.
Work with building management and third party vendors to ensure proper installation and/or repairs of certain equipment.
Advises when an outside contractor may be necessary. Reviews contractor estimates to ensure that the estimates accurately reflect the required repairs and reasonable job costs.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old
High School Diploma required. Technical trade school preferred.
2-3 years’ experience providing maintenance support in various maintenance techniques and trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.
Ability to work safely with hands and power tools and can lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
Ability to be on feet and walk long distances, which may include climbing ladders and staircases.
Proven ability to organize, manage, and complete multiple tasks in an efficient and timely fashion.
Professional and personable. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Willingness to work in a rapidly changing, diverse environment and a willingness to accommodate the schedule in an attraction and events venue.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
Must be customer service oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
Must possess a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations.
Must be able to make generalizations, evaluations, and decisions without immediate supervision.
Must be able to accept and carry out responsibility for directions.
Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
