We are currently expanding our team and are in search of an experienced Maintenance Technician to join us on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing a diverse range of electrical and mechanical equipment, playing a vital part in our innovative subsea cables division.
Job Responsibility
Be a key part of the engineering maintenance that goes into maintaining and repairing cable handling equipment to ensure every project remains on track and making some complex cable projects possible
Assisting in the mobilisation and demobilisation of cable equipment for off-shore projects
Ensure safe working practices are always followed
Complete periodic and condition-based maintenance, completing premobilisation checks on equipment to ensure is ready for internal projects or hire
Logging all maintenance records on system
Troubleshooting on electrical/mechanical and hydraulic systems
Inspect and overhaul valves, motors, pumps and other hydraulic components
Maintain housekeeping in workshop. Ensure all work areas are clean and tidy including company transport
Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used
Provide input into the specification of new equipment from a maintenance and operational point of view to Project Managers and Engineers
Report any problems that have occurred or any questions that you may have to the Production Manager
Provide guidance to apprentices in department and mentor them on their apprenticeship pathway
Requirements
Full UK driving license
Time served/significant experience in a Mechanical / Electrical technician role
Hydraulic fault finding & diagnosis would be advantageous
Electrical fault finding and diagnosis
Understand technical drawings and information
Experience using maintenance scheduling and logging software
HNC (or equivalent) in engineering trade or relevant experience
Good time management
Basic IT skills in Word and Excel would be an advantage
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Good communication skills
Nice to have
Hydraulic fault finding & diagnosis would be advantageous
Basic IT skills in Word and Excel would be an advantage
